Over the past 20 years, it has been estimated that some 10 million female foetuses have been aborted.
In northern Punjab, for example, there are just 798 girls under the age of six for every 1,000 boys. The national average is 927.This trend is not going to end well, but every effort should be made to see that it ends soon.

India will just end up with gangs of teenage/twenty somthing boys running wild and causing havoc like they have in China because there aren't enough girls to go around.
The problem is likely as bad or worse among neighboring muslim nations. all of these cultures that treat women as livestock or property of males.
well there is certainly a different ideology behind the reasons female babies aren't valued between China (limiting families to one baby in the past) and the Muslim countries where women are less than property. In the Muslims' view, comparing women to livestock is probably an insult to the cattle. Of course, most of the 'extra' men running around in China aren't very likely to strap bombs to themselves and blow anyone up either. I wouldn't mind self-immolation as a form of population control so much if they didn't always insist on taking others with them.
