the only way to alleviate guilt over your actions is by changing them. If you are more interested in physical comfort (as I admit I am) then accept it and live your life. If you cannot accept the affect your SUV might have on the environment then trade it in for a Prius. I think we should explore capitalizing on the process of purchasing carbon offsets - I bet some rich women would love to work the treadle pumps for days on special weight loss vacations!
