A priceless quote ongovernment healthcare

From John Goodman's Health Policy Blog:

“I did not sign away my right to get the best possible health care for myself when I entered politics.”

Canadian Premier Danny Williams

This was his response when asked about having heart surgery done in Miami even though it was available under the Canadian governments universal health care system. It seems he wanted to avoid the wait times imposed in Canada.
I suppose the government can reduce costs of heath care by imposing long waits so a few people die off and reduce the number who need to be treated.

there was a woman at teh doctor's office today freaking out about having to show her picture ID everytime now (some new law or something). She was all "I want to know what bill was passed for this because I'm going to need to write some letters to my representative" blah blah blah. I just wanted to ask if she was pro-universal health care, cause it ain't gonna get better.

We should make it illegal for anyone not a resident of the US to have any non emergent medical procedure done here and see how long their country's socialized medicine lasts.
