Throw The Bums Out

This is a happy day for me. I have found a group of like minded people at a sight called The Kick Them All Out Project. My sister pointed me to an article by Charlie Reese called:

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy. Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of the 235 million - are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I have written a number of times on the need to throw the bums ( all incumbent Congressmen and Senators) out of office. Vote against everyone of both parties and make it clear that we have had enough slimy two faced mendacity.

Earmarks, favors: Young used position for funds and his donors' projects

Time after time in recent years, Young approved millions of dollars for highway projects for people who in turn fattened his campaign treasury.

This guy is a Republican but it hardly matters. Both parties are filled bloviating sellouts willing to be bought for a few thousand. Throw all the bums out! Vote against all incumbents.

Vote against all incumbents of both political parties in the coming national elections. We have no hope of dealing intelligently with problems like Iraq, Islamic terrorism, social security and medicare deficits, or healthcare when the political process is controlled by pigs at the trough.

Roll Call reports that a few months after Silvestre Reyes became chair of the House Intelligence Committee, he asked his brother to create a political action committee called BEST PAC. That committee received tens of thousands in donations from employees and clients of a lobbying firm. Those clients subsequently received millions in earmarks from Chairman Reyes:

Just more corrupt behavior from a congressional leadership that campaigned on the promise of cleaning up earmarks and corruption that went on under the previous leadership. These people are pigs at the trough, they cannot help themselves. Vote them all out of office. No incumbent should be re-elected. Both parties need to be cleaned out.

Trust in Federal Government, On Nearly All Issues, Hits New Low

Two posts on the Instapundit. These issues are not unrelated. We the voters of these United States need to send them all home. Repeat after me " I will not vote for any incumbent."

NEW YORK A new Gallup poll reveals that, as the organization puts it, Americans now "express less trust in the federal government than at any point in the past decade, and trust in many federal government institutions is now lower than it was during the Watergate era, generally recognized as the low point in American history for trust in government."

Pork-barrel earmarks were an important factor in the loss of the GOP majority last November. Years of irresponsible earmarks, slipped into bills behind closed doors without public debate or scrutiny, eroded Republicans' reputation as the party of fiscal responsibility and trustworthy custodians of taxpayer funds.

I've never made a secret of my distaste for worthless pork. Just a few months after being elected as majority leader last year, we enacted comprehensive reforms that brought the earmark process out into broad daylight. All taxpayer-funded earmarks had to be publicly disclosed and subject to challenge and debate. If you sponsor a project, we argued, you ought to be willing to put your name on it and defend it--and if not, you shouldn't ask taxpayers to pay for it. These reforms were the right thing to do--and they still are.

The Democratic majority came to power in January promising to do a better job on earmarks. They appeared to preserve our reforms and even take them a bit further. I commended Democrats publicly for this action. Unfortunately, the leadership reversed course.

Shining a light on Congressional giveaways is neither a republican or democrat issue. Rather it is an issue for all Americans seeking to reduce corruption in Washington and preserve real representative government. Time to shock and awe incumbistan.

Murtha Gorges On The Other White Meat

Porkbusters and the Instapundit note a Roll Call article describing the sleaziness of Rep. Murtha:

Every private entity that Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) favored with an earmark in this year’s defense bill recently has given political money to the lawmaker, according to an analysis of House Appropriations and federal elections records by Roll Call and Taxpayers for Common Sense.

You bought Google at $100 and 3 years later is nearing $600 a share? Big deal. Microsoft has gone up 28-fold over the last 20 years? Yawn. You want to make the big bucks? Rent a congressman. Your return on your investment can be as high as $75 for every dollar invested.

Porkbusters update

Glenn Reynolds one of the founders of Porkbusters today points to an article by Robert Novak on the scumbags in Congress and their earmark payoffs to political supporters. As always Murtha is in the lead and Pelosi is useless. The republicans are no better.
I admire the effort by Representative Flake but I continue to advocate voting against all incumbents. throw all the bums out!

Don Surber: Democrats ‘achieve' 14 percent approval

Under Democratic leadership, Congress has gone from the brink of the abyss and leaped. Whee!

Time to initiate " Incumbent Busters" to see if the PorkBusters style internet movement could create momentum for real change in Washington. The center of the American voting public needs to unify long enough to throw the bums out. We have a culture of elected officials who represent themselves, their lobbyist contributors, and their party. Then and only if it is convenient do they represent the best interests of their constituents and the nation.
I will vote against any incumbent of any party in the next election. There is not a single elected official in Washington fit to powder the wig of George Washington.
